I have been working with the youth longer than I have been teaching guitar.
Almost my whole working career has been spent working with children. From my first job as a camp counselor for the range of k-5th grade, to floor hockey instructor for k-5th grade, I've had more jobs working with/around kids than I have without. Over the years, I have gained a lot of experience in understanding the youth brain and how it works. Whether it is getting them to become motivated for something they might dread at first, or encouraging them during a tough riff, I've got enough experience to handle all of it.
“We love having Ryan as a teacher! He is always encouraging to my son while he’s teaching, whether it’s complimenting him when he has played well or when he is helping to correct him when he has made a mistake. Ryan is patient and thoughtful about how he teaches. His method of teaching is not using traditional practice books, but instead uses modern rock songs to help his students get right into learning the rhythm, chord transition, theory and technique of playing guitar. It makes it fun for my son! He always finds a way to complement my son after practice. He has been very easy to work with.”
